Shipping Process

While some products ship from our warehouse in Springfield, Illinois, many ship directly from the manufacturer. Marx Fireplaces & Lighting, Inc. strives to provide the fastest and most flexible shipping options. As a result, custom finish items may have extended lead and processing times.

Standard Ground Shipping

Most items under 150 pounds qualify for standard shipping via a parcel service (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc). This flexibility provides the fastest method to process and ship a customer’s order. If the order arrives damaged, please see our Return Policy to determine the necessary course of action.

Standard Freight Shipping

Most items over 150 pounds qualify for standard freight shipping. Customers are contacted, via phone, by the shipping company when freight orders are processed and ready for delivery. For that reason, it is critical to provide a valid phone number at the time of checkout for the delivery to be scheduled. Standard freight shipping includes curbside delivery and liftgate service for residential delivery locations. Upon delivery, the driver will remove the item from the truck. However, it is the customer’s responsibility to bring the item onto the property.

The customer is required to sign for any freight delivery. Please inspect the item before accepting delivery. Any damage present upon arrival must be noted when accepting the delivery. Consequently, Marx is not liable for damages not disclosed at the time of delivery. Furthermore, Marx is not responsive for damages to any delivery the customer authorizes to be left without a signature.

Any product or order under 150 pounds that does not qualify for free shipping is subject to ground shipping charges via a parcel service (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.), regardless of quantity or size. Ground shipping applies to standard locations within the contiguous 48 states. Marx reserves the right to choose the delivery type, carrier and service level of each shipment when ground shipping applies.

Freight Shipping:
Any product or order that weighs more than 150 pounds and does not qualify for free shipping is subject to standard freight shipping charges. Standard freight shipping applies to locations within the contiguous 48 states. Marx reserves the right to choose the delivery type, carrier and service level of each shipment when freight shipping applies.

Free Shipping*:
Free shipping may apply to many standard locations within the contiguous 48 states. Marx reserves the right to choose the delivery type, carrier and service level of each shipment when free shipping applies. Orders that qualify for freight shipping include curbside residential delivery and liftgate services. Special considerations and additional fees may apply to certain delivery exceptions (e.g. deliveries to hard to reach areas).

*Not all products or delivery locations qualify for Free Shipping.

Shipping Outside of the Continental United States

Orders requiring shipment outside of the continental United States will not be processed.
