The Modern Flames Orion V2 42-Inch Traditional Built-In Electric Fireplace brings next-generation virtual flame realism to the classic fireplace format. Measuring 41" wide, 27-13/16" tall and just 9-7/8" deep, it is sized for living rooms, great rooms and larger fireplace openings. A deep firebox holds a full-size lit log set cast from real split wood, set on a glowing ember bed with brighter downlighting for true-to-life depth and texture.

Install it three ways: as a built-in clean-face fireplace for a flush, trimless finish, as a self-trimming unit that slides in after the wall is finished, or as a retrofit insert that turns an unused wood-burning or gas fireplace into a modern electric hearth. The Orion V2 Traditional is also approved for built-in installation outdoors under a covered patio.

Orion V2's next-generation LCD display produces sharper contrast, deeper blacks and lifelike, multi-dimensional flame movement, while adaptive brightness adjusts the picture to the light in the room. Choose from 24 flame options out of the box, including three signature flame styles in six colors. A fourth, customizable style can be swapped for new flames, colors and themes through the Modern Flames + app, and up to six experiences can be stored at a time, so the fireplace keeps evolving after installation.

Advanced PTC ceramic heating provides quiet, consistent supplemental warmth: 5,000 BTUs on 120V or up to 8,300 BTUs when hardwired to 240V, for spaces of roughly 400 to 700 square feet. A 120V plug is included and the unit is hardwire ready. Built-in speakers stream music over Bluetooth and play three crackling soundscapes: Classic Crackling, Starry Night and Stormy Night. Control flames, ember bed and downlight colors, heat and audio from the included premium remote, the touch control panel or the Modern Flames + app for iOS and Android, which also works with smart home systems.
